  • Developmental Trauma – Early trauma from disrupted attachment, neglect, or chronic stress, impacting emotional and neurological development.

  • Secondary/Vicarious Trauma – The toll of witnessing or absorbing others’ trauma, common in caregivers, therapists, and first responders.

Signs and Symptoms of Trauma

Trauma manifests differently for everyone. Common signs include:

  • Physical: Chronic pain, headaches, fatigue, digestive issues, sleep disturbances, heightened startle response.

  • Cognitive: Difficulty concentrating, memory issues, intrusive thoughts, confusion, or disorientation.

  • Emotional: Anxiety, depression, numbness, mood swings, persistent fear, guilt, shame, or reliance on coping mechanisms.

  • Relational: Difficulty trusting, withdrawing from others, struggles with intimacy, or avoiding relationships.

  • Spiritual: Loss of meaning, disconnection from self, others, or a higher power.

  • Sexual: Confusion around boundaries, avoidance of or difficulty with intimacy, or hypersexuality.

These symptoms can be subtle or overwhelming, temporary or lasting.

The Benefits of Trauma-Informed Therapy

  • Your Trauma Response Makes Sense – Your reactions aren’t "wrong"—they’re adaptive and wise, even if their timing or intensity no longer serves you. In therapy, we explore this with curiosity.

  • We Go Beyond the Surface – Rather than focusing on the details of your story you already know, therapy helps uncover the deeper roots of suffering—patterns, beliefs, and survival strategies.

  • Healing Happens at Your Pace – There’s no rushing. We go at a pace that feels right for you, with safety and stability as the foundation.

  • In Moments of Distress, You Don’t Have to Stay Stuck – We build tools to help you regulate your nervous system, so you can steady yourself when distress feels overwhelming.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

  • Trauma Lives in Both the Mind and Body – Your body and mind remember trauma, often unconsciously. Learning to listen and respond to these signals deepens self-awareness, self-knowledge, and trust in yourself.

  • Expand Your Capacity to Hold Life’s Highs and Lows – Therapy helps you build the flexibility to sit with complex emotions without being consumed by them, fostering resilience.

  • Integration Brings New Possibilities – Therapy supports you in reimagining your relationships—with yourself, with others, with play, pleasure, purpose, and even with the courage to hope.
